Character Strenghts in My Life

A situation where I used Character Strenghts is in school, I use Self Control, because one of my friends is always following me and my friend Rolando, he does the same as us. Rolando and I need to have a LOT of Self Control, so we can control ourselves and don´t explode.

A problem where I didn´t use Character Strenghts was in a basketball game, we were losing by 2 or 3 points and I had already 4 fouls, I didn´t have Self Control so I was angry and I made my fifth foul and I got expelled from the game, but I hit so hard the boy that I made him bleed from the nose.

My life is very different now that I have Character Strenghts, now I am more responsible, And I know in which aspects of life I am good at.

Character Strenghts in My Life

A situation in which I used character strenghts was with one friend. I had to use Self-Control because I had to hold my desesperation with him. He is always following me and Javier but we need to hold and have a lot of Self-Control. 

A problem in which I didn´t used the Character Strenghts was when i was in my house and then my brother started messing with me and I get angry so we started to fight. At the end he had blood in his nose and I cut my lips and that fight didn´t solve anything. The problem was that i didn´t used Self-Control and it brought me bad consequences.

My life is very different using Character Strenghts. they help me and teach me wath I need to do in different situations and they give you different opportunities and they tech you different things.

For me, to be a good student, I need Curiosity and Grit to be a good student. I need to have Curiosity to investigate and research for new topics I don´t know. Grit because if you surrender easily, you won´t achieve nothing.

Rolando Escamilla

For me, to be a good student, I need Curiosity, Grit and Self-Control to be a good student. I need to have Curiosity to search, learn and investigate for different topics that can help me in the school or just for learning something new. Grit because if you surrender without starting or at the beginning it will be very difficult for you to achieve something. And Self-Control because you need to control yourself so you don´t make a mess with your projects or you don´t get in trouble with your friends.

5 Tips To Be A Better Student

As you know, this blog is about Character Strenghts, so this tips will be about Character Strenghts.

Tips To Be A Better Student:

1. Be thankful with all of your teachers! If you´re thankful and you treat well your teachers, they´ll be glad to explain you again and again until you understand one topic. (Gratitude)
2. Have Grit, so you can get through all your problems. A person with a lot of perseverance will never surrender and will always try to achive his goals. (Grit)
3. Be Optimistic, if you are Optimistic you will see the positive things to everything you do, even though they are problems that may not have a positive thing. (Optimism)
4. Have Self Control, if you have this you will not interrupt other persons while they´re talkiing and you will control your self. (Self Control)
5. Be an ethusiastic person, if you are enthusiastic, you will always have esthusiasm to learn new things everyday. (Zest)

Character Strenghts In Our Friends

Luis Mario Lozano

He thinks that he has the Character Strenghts of: Gratitude and Optimism. One situation when he applied them:

• Gratitude: He always use it with the teachers, because they are always so patient and they always teach him something new, and Luis Mario always thank them and even though sometimes he doesn´t understands one topic, they always explain him the same until he learns it.

• Optimism; He alwasy use it everyday because he is always happy and see the positive things to every problem he has.

Mister Joel Character Strenghts

Today we are going to introduce you Mister Joel Gutierrez. He teaches French at Secundaria Tec de Monterrey and we are going to talk about him and his character strenghts. He likes to hear music, do sports, watch movies, hang out with his friends and he loves to eat like everybody in this world.

There are diferent things that he hate like the prople that screams, rude people and he dosent tolerate the racist people. We ask him what types of character strenghts he has and he thinks that he has Self-control and curiosity. He developed this character strenghts because he use them every day when he goes to work.

Finally we wanna tell him happy teachers day we hope he has a fantastic day and we  are greatfull for having him as a teacher.

Character Strenghts in Books

A character with Character Strenghts is: Four
He appears in different books and movies like Four, Divergent, Insurgent and Alliegant

His story starts when he was young and his father treat him bad. Then he decided to change of faction and in there his new life started. Also in there he met Beatrice Prior which was his girlfriend. He tried to face his four fears.

The Character Strenghts that Four has are: Grit, Curiosity and Self-Control. Also being Brave is one characteristic of him.

The Character Strenghts that he has can be found in the books and in the movies for example: When he try to beat his four fears he show that he is brave. Also when he has the opportunity to kill someone he dosent do it because he knows that nothing would change thats why he has Self-Control.

Character Strenghts in Movies

A movie with Character Strenghts is: Coach Carter.
This movie is about a coach named Ken Carter and his team the Richmond Oilers.

When Ken entered to Richmond, the team had no values, Character Strenghts and they were always fighting in the court, so when Ken entered he taught them how to win games and become champions.
The Character Strenghts in this movie are: Grit, Self Control and Social Intelligence.

This Character Strengths are shown through all the movie, for example: The Richmond Oilers' players didn't surrender and fought and reached to the Estate Championship, even when they were always losing, at the end they became champions.

Character Strenghts in Songs

One song that has character strengths is: Stronger- Kanye West.

This song has just one character strength, but it is very important, the character strength it has is: Grit. Because this song tells us that if you lose in something, this will prepare you for the next time you do it or you try it.

For example: When you are in a football or basketball game, your team loses. This will help you learn your mistakes and the next time you play again with them, yoh will do all you did wrong in the last game in a right way.
